Good Faith Estimate
I believe in transparency around costs so you can make informed decisions about your care. Understanding what therapy will cost—and having that information upfront—is part of creating a safe, trustworthy therapeutic relationship.
Below is information about your right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of therapy costs, as required by federal law.
What is a Good Faith Estimate?
Under the No Surprises Act, healthcare providers must inform individuals who don’t have insurance or who are not planning to use insurance about their right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of expected charges.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate if you are:
- Uninsured
- Not planning to use insurance for therapy services
- Using insurance but paying directly for some services (such as out-of-network care)
- Receiving services funded by a grant or third-party payer
- Using a Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA)
Fee Structure for New Clients
Mosaic Bloom Counseling operates on a tiered fee structure to balance accessibility with practice sustainability. This pricing model allows some clients to pay standard rates, which helps sustain reduced-rate spots for clients with financial constraints.
Standard Rate: $200 per 50-minute individual therapy session
For clients who can afford the full fee
Accessible Rate: $140 per session
Limited availability for clients with moderate financial constraints
Equity Rate: $110 per session
Limited availability for clients with significant financial constraints. I maintain dedicated equity rate spots as part of my commitment to accessible, specialized trauma care for marginalized communities.
Insurance Clients
I am in-network with:
- Aetna
Session rates for insurance clients are determined by your insurance contract, not by the tiers above. Your specific cost will depend on your plan’s copay, coinsurance, deductible, and coverage structure. I encourage you to contact your insurance company to verify your behavioral health benefits before our first session.
Note About Established Clients
Clients who began services prior to January 1, 2026, maintain individualized rate structures that were established at the start of our therapeutic relationship. The tier system above reflects current standard offerings for new clients and may not represent all fee arrangements within the practice.
What to Expect
Treatment Duration
The length and frequency of therapy varies based on your unique needs and goals. Many clients attend weekly sessions for 3-6 months (approximately 12-24 sessions), though some find benefit in shorter-term work while others engage in longer-term therapy. We’ll discuss your treatment plan together and adjust as needed.
Initial Consultation
Your first session is typically 60 minutes and is billed at the same rate as standard sessions.
When You’ll Receive Your Estimate
You will receive a personalized Good Faith Estimate before your first scheduled session. This estimate will outline:
- Your specific session rate (based on tier or insurance)
- Expected charges for the initial therapy session
- Typical costs for ongoing therapy sessions based on your anticipated treatment plan
- Estimated frequency and duration of services
- Any known third-party payment arrangements or grant funding that may affect your costs
Even if another entity (such as an employer, grant program, or family member) is paying for your care, you have the right to receive this estimate.
If Your Treatment Plan Changes
If we determine together that your treatment needs shift—whether that means changing session frequency, extending the anticipated duration, or adjusting therapeutic approaches—I will provide you with an updated Good Faith Estimate reflecting these changes.
Your Rights Under the No Surprises Act
If you receive a bill that exceeds your Good Faith Estimate by $400 or more, you have the right to initiate a dispute resolution process. This protection ensures you won’t face unexpected charges significantly higher than what was estimated.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know which tier I qualify for?
During our initial phone consultation, we’ll discuss your financial situation and determine which tier is appropriate and available. I approach these conversations with sensitivity and without judgment—my goal is to make specialized trauma therapy accessible.
What if I can pay the standard rate but would prefer a lower tier?
The accessible and equity tiers are reserved for clients experiencing genuine financial constraints. Paying the standard rate when you’re able helps me maintain reduced-rate spots for those who truly need them. This is how the tiered model sustains itself.
Do you accept insurance?
Yes, I am in-network with Aetna and Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield. If you have one of these plans, we’ll bill your insurance directly and you’ll pay your copay, coinsurance, or deductible as determined by your specific plan.
What if I have different insurance?
If you have insurance other than Aetna or Highmark, you would be considered out-of-network. I can provide superbills (detailed receipts) for you to submit to your insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement, but you would be responsible for the full session fee at the time of service.
Can I use my HSA or FSA?
Yes, therapy services generally qualify for HSA and FSA funds. You will receive a Good Faith Estimate regardless of your payment method.
What happens if my insurance denies a claim?
If your insurance denies a claim, I’ll work with you to understand why and attempt to resolve it. In most cases, denied claims can be appealed. We’ll discuss your options and any financial responsibility you may have.
Do you offer payment plans?
Payment is expected at the time of service. However, if you’re experiencing temporary financial difficulty, I’m open to discussing short-term payment arrangements. Please bring this up as soon as possible so we can find a solution together.
What if my financial situation changes during treatment?
Please let me know if your financial circumstances change significantly—whether they improve or worsen. We can discuss adjusting your rate if appropriate and if availability allows. My commitment is to transparency and sustainability for both of us.
Questions About Costs?
Please don’t hesitate to reach out with questions about fees, billing, insurance, tier eligibility, or payment options. Financial concerns shouldn’t stand in the way of accessing quality, affirming care. I’m committed to being transparent about costs and working with you to find a sustainable path forward.
