About My Consultation Practice
I’m Marquita Bolden, an EMDRIA-certified EMDR therapist with 20 years of clinical experience specializing in trauma treatment for adult survivors of childhood trauma. I bring an anti-racist, identity-affirming, feminist lens to all my work.
I’m currently enrolled in the EMDRIA Consultant-in-Training (CIT) program through November 2026, which means I’m actively deepening my consultation skills while working toward full EMDRIA Approved Consultant status.
What does CIT status mean for you?
As a Consultant-in-Training, I can provide:
- All 10 consultation hours required to complete EMDR basic training (verify with your training provider)
- Up to 15 of the 20 consultation hours required for EMDRIA certification (you’ll need 5+ hours from a fully approved consultant)
- Ongoing consultation for skill development and complex case support
I work under the supervision of an EMDRIA Approved Consultant, which means you benefit from both my direct clinical experience and the oversight of seasoned EMDR expertise.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you offer consultation packages or payment plans?
Currently, consultation is billed per session. If you’re working toward a specific goal (like completing 10 or 15 hours), we can discuss a structured plan, but payment is made session-by-session.
Can I use consultation hours from a CIT toward EMDRIA certification?
Yes! As a CIT, I can provide up to 15 of the required 20 hours toward EMDRIA certification. The remaining 5+ hours must come from a fully approved EMDRIA consultant.
How do I know if my EMDR training provider accepts CIT consultation hours?
Some training providers require all 10 post-training consultation hours to come from fully approved consultants, while others accept CIT hours. Contact your specific training provider (like EMDR Institute, Parnell Institute, etc.) to verify their policy.
What’s the difference between EMDR consultation and clinical supervision?
EMDR consultation is focused specifically on building your EMDR skills and supporting your EMDR cases. Clinical supervision is broader and may be required for licensure. If you’re an LSW working toward LCSW, you need clinical supervision (which I also offer separately). If you’re already licensed and want to deepen your EMDR practice, you need consultation.
Do you offer consultation for therapists who aren’t pursuing certification?
Absolutely. Not everyone wants or needs EMDRIA certification, but many therapists benefit from ongoing consultation to refine their skills, work through complex cases, or integrate EMDR more confidently into their practice.
What modalities do you integrate with EMDR?
I primarily integrate EMDR with Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy, and I bring a trauma-informed, somatic, and relationally-focused approach. I’m also familiar with DBT, ACT, and other evidence-based modalities and can support you in integrating EMDR with your existing therapeutic framework.
What if I have questions between sessions?
Brief questions via email are welcome, but extended case consultation should happen during scheduled sessions to ensure both of us have dedicated time and attention.
